Atal bihari vajpayee Hall of Residence
History
The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hall of Residence at IIT Kharagpur is one of the institute’s newer hostels, named after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India. It was established to accommodate the growing student population, particularly for postgraduate and doctoral students.

Location
he Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hall of Residence (ABV Hall) is located on the IIT Kharagpur campus, near the Nalanda Academic Complex and other postgraduate hostels.
Hall Council
Hall Council members are selected each year by the warden of the hall to ensure smooth conduction of hall related activities within the hall. These activities include Hall maintenance, welfare activities, grand dinners, festival functions, alumni meets, etc. Hierarchically, the Hall President and Second Senate Member work in coordination with the General Secretaries and the secretaries to ensure the smooth functioning of the hall.
