Prerequisites: None Concepts of states of stress and strain. Analysis of three dimensional stresses and strains., equations of equilibrium, generalized Hookes law, Plane elastic problems in cartesian and polar coordinates, axisymmetric problems, torsion, solutions of problems using elasticity theory, anisotropic elasticity, thermoelasticity, contact problems, energy and variational principles, Navier equation and the Galerkin vector, Papkovich-Neuber solution, elastic stability.
