To ensure that only current students of KGP eligible for internships/placements are able to access MFTP, we need the following changes:

• Send out a mail in MFTP prior to removal announcing the removal
• Remove all ineligible accounts (barring metakgp maintainers in the group)
• Ensure new members joining are eligible students, and not anyone can join right away.

Send out an announcement mail

Greetings from MetaKGP,

We hope that MFTP has eased off some pressure that comes in with CDC internships and placements. It has come to our notice that the alumni who joined MFTP one or two years ago are receiving mails for companies, while possibly working in some of them. We've also observed students from other colleges have subscribed to CDC notice board.

This has been an issue raised by CDC, which we acknowledge and some form of action needs to be taken.

Starting in a few days, only current students of IIT Kharagpur shall be retained as members, rest will be removed. Mistakes are unavoidable, so if you've been removed unintentionally, please apply again to the google group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/kgp-tnp-noticeboard). We will be bringing back authentication when joining the group to avoid future nuisances.

Remove all ineligible accounts

CDC provides a list of eligible students for CDC internships/placements, remove all the email ids not appearing on this list. Allow 3-4 days after the previous announcement has been made

Onboarding new members

By default, google groups sends every manager, owner of the group every new incoming request the moment it is received. To maintain some order, pick a time (say, 10AM). Mail all the requests received yesterday with the following template.

For every new person's email which is on the eligible students list, add them directly. For others, use the following template. (Ideally, cc:metakgp<at>gmail<dot>com, bcc:every new applicant)
