Syllabus

Development of computer programs for three dimensional representation of simple architectural objects (C, C++); AutoCAD application in two and three dimensional architectural drawing, UCS generations, creation of entities, dimensioning. Application of solids and surfaces; Customization of AutoCAD. Programming in AutoLisp and creation of architectural library elements; Development of computer programs for design and analysis of building elements, building environments and site developments (C, C++, AutoLisp); Application of 3D Studio and other 3D-Imaging softwares.
Concepts taught in class
Taught how to use CAD, Revit (architectural softwares)
The fundamentals of CAT and REVIT will be taught. The course mainly focuses on the basic and the fundamentals of the two softwares that is widely used in architecture.
Student Opinion
| Not much to learn, by the time you take this course, you would already know the basics of these softwares, having used them in your previous projects. Moreover, the prof isn't much interested to teach you more than basics. |
| This is a very light course. Attending the classes will help the beginners to get through the softwares and learn the basics and get their hands on it while it is very trivial thing for those who have used them before. |
How to Crack the Paper
| Depends on the mood of the prof, he may or may not take a viva for final marking. But you need to submit regular assignments, though as a matter of fact, the marking is very random, you can't do anything about it. |
