Fault diagnosis of digital circuits and systems: fault modeling, test generation, design for testability, signature analysis, built in self test. Testing of embedded systems. Software fault tolerance: fault tolerance versus fault intolerance, errors and their management strategies, software defense, protective redundancy. Fault recovery techniques. Coding theory: application to fault tolerant system design.
