Syllabus mentioned in ERP
Introduction to metal working processes; Continuum plasticity: plastic stressstrain relations, plastic anisotropy, upper bound forces, slip line field theory, deformation zone geometry; Material Properties and characteristics under processing: Flow instability, drawability; Mechanics of metal working: calculation of load, power and energy, friction and lubrication. Selected metal working processes like Forging, Rolling, Extrusion, Drawing and Sheet metal Forming: classification of processes, design of specific metal working processes e.g roll-pass design, estimation of load, force, power etc for these processes with various deformation geometry and operation variables; Metallurgical factors in metal working and thermo-mechanical processing; Modelling and simulation of specific working processes; Nonconventional processes: Superplastic forming, high energy rate forming etc.
