Talk:How to get a visa to USA

I think information about how to actually write the application, what the prerequisites are, fees, etc., will quickly become outdated. In any case, there are several excellent websites that offer up to date information on how to do all these things, including the official visa application website. What is uniquely useful is the KGP side of things - how to get a bona fide certificate, how to get to the consulate, any particular size of photograph you need to mention to the shop in Tech Market, etc. We should link to other websites for the general application process instead of replicating it here. -- Amrav (talk) 17:44, 5 April 2016 (IST)
- Comprehensive information is available for B1/B2 visa and I guess also for H1B, but I haven't find any comprehensive source for information on J1 visa and I guess it is the most complicated of all. -- Hargup (talk) 18:01, 5 April 2016 (IST)
- I have known people who have checked all the website and everything but still talk to other people just to confirm or get an idea. So, I think we can have both the information here - a detailed process (which might get outdated) along with relevant sources that people can check. Plus, I do not think that any information is going to change very abruptly except the payments, which we can mention in additional notes. Xtinct (talk) 18:07, 5 April 2016 (IST)
